In the budget conscious mind of an average Indian buyer, mileage is paramount especially with the dwindling fuel prices. Every time a person decides to buy a car, he/she faces the biggest dilemma in the form of a question- Petrol or diesel? Should you go for the cheaper petrol car or instead go for the more expensive diesel car that gives you a better fuel economy? If you have decided that you want to go with a diesel one, we are here with a list of all the upcoming diesel cars in the year 2015 to help you make the choice.

      Hyundai Verna

New Hyundai Verna: The C-segment sedan was the best-seller at one point of time, but has been recently facing a lot of stiff competition from the new Honda City and Suzuki Ciaz. To change this and retain its dominance in the market, Hyundai is giving the Verna a complete facelift. The car will probably have the same engine as the ongoing Verna, but the exteriors will be given a major overhaul.

Hyundai Elite i20 crossover: Elite i20 crossover will be Hyundai’s first crossover to be released in the Indian market. Based on the successful Elite i20, the car will be powered by the same 1.4-litre fuel efficient diesel engine as its smaller sibling.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire: One of the most successful and inexpensive sedans in the Indian market, the Swift Dzire from Maruti Suzuki is up for a facelift soon this year. The car will undergo a major overhaul and will come with many new features like cruise control, keyless entry and also button start. The drivetrain will remain the same with a 1.3-litre fuel efficient multijet diesel engine under its hood.

Facelifted Tata Safari Storme: Tata Safari Storme was first introduced in the year 2012, and has been one of the best options for people looking for an inexpensive big car. Safari Storme will be getting a major facelift this year, especially inside the cabin, where many new features are expected to be added. The car will feature the same 2.2-litre engine, but the power output might be increased from 140 bhp to 150 bhp.
