This time around, the new model has reportedly continued to be the best seller for the Japanese automaker. Since launch, over 25,000 units of the new City have been booked. In April, of the cumulative 14,480 Honda car sales, about 5,948 units are accounted for the City alone.

Reports indicate that the new top-spec ZX variant has generated a positive response as more customers have opted for the same.  Speaking of features in the new model, at the variant level, the new model gets electric sunroof, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic LED headlamps, fog lamps, daytime running lamps and LED inserts for the tail-lamps. The top-spec ZX variant additionally offers rain-sensing wipers, a boot lid spoiler, larger wheels and six airbags.

Honda City faces a stiff competition from the Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz. In last fiscal year, Maruti Ciaz sold 64,448 units as against 57,984 units reported for the Honda City. At the current sales growth rate the City sedan from Honda might as well emerge as a top player in its segment in this fiscal year.
