To be called the 5Li, this more spacious iteration will have its wheelbase extended by around 10cm and as a result, will feature a different roofline post the B-pillar. In all probability, it will make its public debut during the Beijing Auto Show in April next year.

The 2017 5Li will be made by the Brilliance-BMW joint venture. It will be offered with a range of petrol engines with four, six and even eight cylinder configurations. When launched, the 5Li will compete with other stretched luxury sedans namely the Mercedes E-Class L, Audi A6 L and the upcoming Volvo S90 L.
