New 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire variants in detail

The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is here and the price tag begins at Rs 5.54 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi and going all the way up to Rs 9.41 lakh for the top-spec diesel car. In that four lakh rupees spread, we have four trims which with different engine and gearbox options spawn a total of 14 variants that you can choose from. Here is a rundown on the trims and variants which will help you find the one that suits you the best.

The base trims for the petrol and diesel cars are LXI and LDI and are offered with manual gearboxes only. Being entry-level trims, they do not get power windows or adjustable headrests in the front or electrically adjustable ORVMs. But more importantly, it gets dual front airbags and ABS with EBD standard for safety. It does get power steering and air-conditioning, but misses out on the rear AC vents. It gets 14-inch steel rims with black wing mirrors and door handles. The instrument console misses out on the tachometer, but gets the more useful multi-information display.

Next in line are the VXI and VDI trims. Maruti starts offering the five-speed automated manual gearbox options from this trim onwards. You get all-four power windows and electrically adjustable wing mirrors and rear AC vents over the L trims to start with. You also get remote-controlled central locking, height adjustable driver seat with adjustable headrests in the front. The V trims also come with a music system which is a 2-DIN unit that comes with Bluetooth connectivity, USB and AUX inputs. It gets a 12V socket in the back as well, along with a rear armrest. The instrument console gets a tachometer form hereon.

The Z trims are one below the top-spec and gets 15 inch alloy wheels and chrome window linings for that premium look. It gets leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-button start, automatic climate control and auto-down function for the driver power window. While the music system remains the same it gets two tweeters in addition to the four speakers. It also gets reverse parking sensors, rear defogger and front fog lamps for the equipment offered with the V trims.

The Z trims are top of the line and get the touchscreen display infotainment system from the Baleno. The infotainment system gets Android Auto and Apple Car Play standard making the smartphone connectivity seamless. On the outside, it gets LED projector headlamps and daytime running lamps and precision-cut alloy wheels that help the top-spec car stand out. It also gets automatic headlamps and reverse parking with camera for convenience.
