The Indian unit of Germany based leading car maker BMW is mulling to launch the new generation model of its luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) – BMW X3 – in the Indian market by the first quarter of year 2011. The car was recently sneak peaked while under testing on Indian roads.
The new BMW X3 carries a bigger and more fluidic exterior as compared to the existing model of X3. The major competitors of the car in the Indian market are Audi Q5 and Mercedes Benz GLK Class. The car will be available in two engine options including 2.0L diesel and 2.5L petrol.
The new BMW X3 2011 is expected to come blessed with a range of new generation features that comprises of Head-Up display, a highly sophisticated 8-speed transmission gearbox and a large luggage space. Moreover, the car will be carrying splittable rear seats along with a higher positioned driver seat ensuring better outside view.
BMW is one of the largest luxury car makers in the country and sells about a dozen cars in India that comprises of SUVs like BMW X1, X3, X5 and X6, sedans such as BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series, Grand Turismo, M series and the BMW Z4 coupe.
