Despite slump in domestic market, MSI models outshone most of its contenders in April 2014 by registering their names among the top ten bestselling cars as against four models in April 2013. The top three positions among the 10 best selling cars in India have been conquered by MSI’s popular models. While the rest four sports were overpowered by Hyundai cars. Only one model from Honda India could make its place among the top 10 bestselling models. Data released by SIAM shows that Maruti’s mini hatchback Alto topped the list with 16,763 units sold in April 2014, however in the same time last year MSI sold 19,847 units.

Second position was grabbed by Maruti’s compact sedan Swift Dzire with 16,008 units, though in the same month corresponding year, Dzire sales stood at 19,446 units. With 15,874 units, Maruti Suzuki India’s flagship Swift hatchback stood at third position which is a slight less than April 2013 sales of 16,531 units. On the fourth spot is Hyundai’s Grand i10 that made its debut in India in 2013. Grand i10 posted sales of 9,612 units last month.
