      Motor Racing from Volkswagen in India

      After Formula One from Kingfisher, now India is ready to witness motor sports in the country from Volkswagen. VW plans to bring motor sports to India which will entice motor sports enthusiasts in the country. Volkswagen Polo club plans to bring motor sports to India by 2010. “We are working on being able to have motor sport in India with Volkswagen from 2010, and have the programme in place by the end of 2009,” Mr Kris Nissen, Director, Volkswagen Motorsport said. He also added that the company will begin with Polo Cup in India and will also be involved in Formula series for young drivers.

      VW is ready to launch its new model VW Polo in India next year. The VW Polo Club will be fall under its marketing strategies that will enable the young enthusiast and talented youth to prepare for international motor sports. VW will adapt the working system in Europe to be implemented for working system for racing in India.

      Implementing racing using its products is one of the global marketing strategies from VW. It introduced China series of Polo Club some years ago and Jetta TDI cup in the US earlier this year in May 2008. It also signed 19 year old Chennai based Ashwin Sunder to train and groom him for racing in European circuits.
