Nearly every auto manufacturer has announced price cuts on their big cars after the excise duty cut announced by the government. Yesterday, Nissan Motors announced prices cuts on its cars by Rs.5000 for models with engine capacity more than 2.0. "We welcome and appreciate the positive direction taken by the government and have decided to pass on the entire benefit to our customers," Nissan Motor India Managing Director Kiminobu Tokuyama said in a statement. Nissan X-Trail after the duty cut will cost around Rs. Rs 20.35 lakh to Rs 24.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Nissan Taena will be priced around Rs. 21.42 lakh following the price cuts.
Volvo has also announced price cuts on its SUV model XC90 by up to 8.5 percent. The company announced new dealerships as well as revised pricing structure for its flagship model. “The expansion of our dealer network signals the importance of the Indian market to Volvo Cars. Tata Motors, General Motors, Ford, Hyundai, Honda and other manufacturers have already announced price cuts on their sedans and SUV models earlier this week.
