The Audi India range will have more number of petrol cars in the future said Rahil Ansari, head of Audi India. This move has come on the back of a notable increase in demand for its petrol powered models and saw their share jump from 15 per cent in 2015 to 30 per cent this year.
Its latest addition, the Q7 40 TFSI, has come on the back of this demand and is likely to boost this number further. If its plan to bring electric cars here bears fruition then it will place a lower emphasis on diesel models and instead have a larger range of alternate powered vehicles in its line-up.
However, if the electric car plans do take longer than it aims to, by 2020, we shall have a 50 per cent divide in terms of petrol and diesel models.
