After rolling out facelifted Linea sedan and Punto Evo hatchback in domestic market, Italian auto maker, Fiat is gearing up to launch its first new product in India, Avventura crossover. Expected to launch in the beginning of October, more details have emerged on the hatchback based crossover.
Sources close to the development have revealed that Fiat will offer new Avventura in two engine options including one petrol and one diesel engine options. As speculated earlier, the petrol range will ditch 1.2 litre petrol engine and will get the higher displacement 1.4 litre engine. The 1.4 litre petrol engine is capable of generating a top power of 89 Bhp along with a peak torque of 115 Nm. Diesel variant will get the tried and tested 1.3 litre Multijet engine outputting 92 Bhp of maximum power output and peak torque of 209 Nm.
Though the vehicle is based on new Punto Evo, but it will boast increased ground clearance by 20 mm at 205 mm. External features such as externally-mounted spare wheel, roof rails, diamond-cut alloy wheels and nudge guards will be equipped on the vehicle. Avventura will lock horns with other vehicles in its segment that comprise of Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross. We expect Fiat to price Avventura between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
