Mercedes Benz, the Germany based leading luxury car maker, will be launching its much awaited two-door sports SLC AMG at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. The car is expected to be priced in the segment of $100,000, where it will be competing with the likes of Porsche 911 and Aston Martin’s V8 Vantage.
Named as Mercedes Benz SLC AMG, the car will be shelved in the lower segment than its elder sibling SLS AMG. The car would be launched with a powerful V8 engine. However, the company is yet to reveal any specification details of the car in the market. Last year, the company had launched its much talked about luxury sports car – SLS AMG – in the country in the segment of more than Rs 2 crore. The car has been receiving a considerably good response in the country.
The German car maker is receiving a tough competition from its arch rival BMW in the Indian market. BMW has snatched the top spot from Mercedes for the consecutive second year in FY11. In last one year, Mercedes has launched a series of cars in the Indian market, in a bid to beat the competition and regain its supremacy.
