The Indian arm of Mercedes-Benz, the German auto maker, has announced the third edition of its StarDrive Experience, scheduled to be held in the national capital on September 1 and 2, 2012. The StarDrive experience has enraptured over three thousand participants from ten cities and this year spectacle is expected to take the thrill quotient to an entirely different level.
Through its unique event, Mercedes-Benz is trying to give its customers an opportunity to experience the cutting-edge innovations and functions, incorporated in its vehicles. The StarDrive Experience involves simulation of unconventional driving situations for the participants, which can be easily tackled using auto maker's extra-ordinary elements like PRE-SAFE, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Off-Road Pro Engineering and 4ETS.
The event is expected to feature GL-Class and M-Class Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) that can tread any off-road situation in a jiffy. The exceptional engineering marvels are incorporated with 4-Matic and airmatic suspension systems, which has given them the ability to adjust their shockers according to the challenge they face. Situations in terrains like going uphill and downhill are taken care by the revolutionary Hill Hold Assist (HHA) technology, which is featured in both of these behemoths. During a troublesome situation, the HHA feature allows the vehicle to stay standstill for about 2.5 seconds during its uphill or downhill trajectory and gives the driver ample time to carefully manoeuvre the vehicle, while the function takes care of the rest.
Besides New Delhi, the second phase of the StarDrive Experience is slated to be conducted in Chandigarh and Mumbai as well. The New Delhi will be organised at the well-known Buddh International Circuit, situated in Greater Noida.
For the first time in the immensely popular event, one lucky winner from each place will have the chance to challenge Farhan Akhtar in the grand finale of the 'StarDrive Experience'. Mercedes-Benz has made sure that no one goes home empty handed and thus, the auto maker will offer a parting special gift to each qualifying participant.
