Mercedes-Benz E43 AMG is the first performance sedan based on the new generation E-Class sedan. The AMG version will debut at the New York auto show in April, followed by the global launch in September.

The E43 AMG is powered by the 3.0-litre V6 from the C43 AMG, but the power has gone up to 396bhp and 520Nm of torque. The car gets 4MATIC AWD with 31:69 rear bias offering plenty of fun for the enthusiasts. The power is delivered through the new 9G-Tronic gearbox and the E43 can get to 100kmph in 4.5 seconds.

The cosmetic changes to the car over the standard version includes a new diamond grille, aero package at the front, additional vents for air intake, diffuser, quad-exhaust and a boot lip spoiler. The car rides on 19-inch high black gloss alloy wheels. Inside, the car gets a sporty touch. The dashboard is black and has red stitches, the front bucket seats have Artico leather and also red coloured seat belts. There are plenty of aluminium and carbon fibre inserts in the cabin, plus the instrument cluster has a racetimer and 280kmph scale in chequered flag design.

Mercedes might launch the E43 AMG in India by the end of this after, post the launch of the standard sedan in mid-2016.
