Under the hood, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 would be powered by 6.0-litre, twin-turbo V12 engine that generates about 516bhp of power and 823Nm of torque. Inside, the sedan gets new repositioned seats that allows occupants to sit back further. To escape a possible gas attack, the vehicle comes with fresh air injection system that releases fresh air into the cabin. While the boot space is capable of holding a weapon safe.

As the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard has been inclined more on the safety aspect, it comes with underbody armour plating to protect against explosive going off under the car, while the windows get polycarbonate coating on the inside. The fuel tank has not been armoured for now, but it features a special material that is capable of closing any holes on its own when hit. A similar material is also used by Boeing AH-64 Apache tank attack helicopters. As the sedan gets ERV (Explosive Resistant Vehicles) 2010 rating, it is now capable sustaining a 15kg TNT blast from a mere distance of 2-meters unlike the older one that could handle it at 4-meters.
