After making its debut at the Beijing Motor Show last year, the long-wheelbase version of the latest-gen Mercedes E-Class is set to officially launch on February 28.
In what can only be described as a bold move, Mercedes India will replace the current E with this new stretched version which is currently sold in China only where there is a huge demand for long wheelbase luxury models.
The vehicle betters the standard E-Class in terms of both wheelbase (3079mm) and the length (5m). Naturally, the added length has improved the rear seat comfort – additional 134mm of legroom and better ingress/egress.
Unlike other mid-size executive sedans, the new E-Class long-wheelbase is bound to attract a more niche audience, thanks to its limo like rear seat comfort and relatively affordable pricing.
