Known for making some of the fastest sedan and hatchback models, Mercedes-AMG has now launched the GLC 63 range. This new crossover is available in standard as well as coupe form and costs between £68,920 (Rs 56.85 lakh) and £78,160 (Rs 64.53 lakh), depending on the trim.

The GLC 63 range gets a 4-litre biturbo V8 petrol engine, mated to an AMG nine-speed transmission as standard. Non-S variants produce 476bhp and 650Nm of torque, and can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in four seconds. The GLC 63 S, on the other hand, has an output of 510bhp and 700Nm – it can reach 100kmph from standstill in 3.8 seconds. All models have an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

In terms of go-faster features, the GLC 63 includes AMG high-performance braking system, sports suspension, a mechanical rear axle differential lock, Comand Online infotainment system, AMG sports seats with Nappa leather upholstery, ambient lighting, memory package for the electric seats, steering and mirrors and 19-inch AMG 10-spoke alloy wheels in titanium grey. The S variants add 20-inch AMG five-twin-spoke alloy wheels in titanium grey, AMG performance seats, AMG Track Pace app and an electronic rear axle differential lock.

The GLC 63 range is now on sale, with first deliveries arriving in early 2018.
