Mercedes-Benz India has announced that they will launch an all-new version of the S-Class on March 29. Dubbed S 400, this upcoming addition is a petrol powered version that will be sold alongside the S 350d diesel and the S 500.
Unlike the bigger S 500 which gets a twin-turbo V8 motor, the S 400 gets a 3-litre, V6 turbo engine developing 330bhp and 480Nm of torque. As for the gearbox, Mercedes is likely to pair this engine with their new 9-speed automatic gearbox that will send power to the rear wheels.
Mercedes India already sells the S-Class with several engine options including V6 diesel, V8 petrol and V12 petrol (in Maybach models). The addition of a V6 petrol engine will only add to the appeal of this flagship luxury sedan that competes with the BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8.
