Mercedes Benz India will launch the diesel version of new S Class premium saloon, S 350 CDI tomorrow. The company launched petrol version of the locally assembled saloon in domestic market five months ago that opened to a good start. However, deliveries will commence a few days after the launch happens tomorrow.

Mercedes Benz has packed diesel variant of S Class with a 3.0 litre V6 engine that engenders a maximum power output of 255 Bhp along with a top torque of 620 Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox, the powerful engine enables the vehicle to rush from 0 to 100 kmph within 6.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 248 Kmph.

A number of features will go missing in the diesel powered S Class as compared to the petrol trim. The diesel trim is expected to come devoid of 3D surround system, heated/cooled cup holders, centre armrest and tables at the rear seat. Other important features including night vision camera will not be offered on S Class 350 CDI, though it will come equipped with the 360 degree reversing camera.

While the forenamed features will not be seen in new S-350 CDI, it will be embedded with eminent safety features like eight airbags, Dynamic cornering control system, adaptive brake with hold function and anti-slip regulation among others.

The company will assemble new S-350 CDI at its manufacturing unit located in Chakan, Pune. Since the saloon will be assembled locally hence it will give the company some advantage of pricing it competitively. It is being said that the new S 350 CDI price could range between Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.2 crore, however beans will be spilled tomorrow at the launch event.
