Mercedes Benz India launched the new generation version of its CLS 350 model in the Indian market. The company has priced this new German luxury coupe at Rs 67.67 lakh (ex- showroom Mumbai). While launching this sports coupe, the firm said that it is ready with another two new models to be launched in the forthcoming festive season.
In a statement released on the occasion, Mercedes-Benz India Director, Sales and Marketing, Debashis Mitra told reporters, "The new CLS 350 is powered by a 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine and is a sports coupe which is the perfect expression for the young aggressive India."
The car is powered by a 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine that has a sophisticated 7G-Tiptronic transmission. The highly refined engine of the car is capable of delivering a peak power of 306bhp at 6500 rpm. The mentionable features of the car include full LED headlamps, COMMAND APS with LINGUATRONIC (voice operated control system), THERMOTRONIC auto climate control system, etc.
Meanwhile, the firm is all set to add two more models in its Indian portfolio in a period of next two months. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Mitra said, "We are planning to launch two more models during the festive seasons."
Mercedes Benz is currently the second largest selling luxury car brand in the Indian market following BMW at the top. The firm managed to sell 4,890 units in the Indian market during first eight months of this calendar year, as against the sales of 3,495 units same period in year 2010.
