Mercedes-Benz India has launched a new more powerful diesel variant of the C-Class sedan, priced at Rs 44.36 lakh (ex-Pune). The new C250 d variant gets more power, along with the new nine-speed transmission and more features.
The power specs of the C250 d variant are similar to the E250 diesel, with the power rating of 201bhp and 500Nm from the 2.1-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit. Mercedes is using the new 9G-Tronic transmission powering the rear wheel, for this version. With the new set up, the car has a claimed 0 to 100kmph time of 6.6 seconds and ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 19.71kmpl.
The car comes equipped with the Garmin navigation, ambient lighting and the active parking assist with Parktronic. There is no direct rival for the C250 d variant of the C-Class in India, the diesel variants of the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4 compete with the C220 version.
