Luxury auto maker Mercedes-Benz India is preparing to launch special edition of its hatchbacks, A-Class and B Class. The special editions will be offered on the diesel variants of both the cars and these special editions will be made in tandem with the company’s Edition 1 package offered on Mercedes Benz’ vehicles in overseas markets. Under the Edition 1 package, both A-Class and B-Class hatchbacks will get Edition 1 badges and decals, gloss-black mirror housings and redesigned alloy wheels.
Feature wise both the hatchbacks will be richer than their standard models. Among the additional features expected to be equipped in A and B Class a rear seat centre armrest, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front passenger seat and reversing camera are included. Besides these, few other features like the rear seat infotainment system can be seen in the B-Class. The A-Class is said to be offering enhanced wheelbase as compared to its standard model.
Under the hood, there will be no changes and hence both the hatchbacks will continue to be equipped with the same diesel engines. The diesel engine housed in A-Class and B-Class is the high displacement, 2143 cc, four cylinder motor mated to a seven-speed, dual clutch transmission.
