Cars across segments featuring the Mercedes Benz logo are known to display remarkable level of quality and refinement standards. This time around the world's renowned carmaker has been planning on launching two new cars in the Indian market. The first one to make it would be the newest and the freshest of the lot GLA Crossover that was showcased at the Shanghai Motor Show last year is expected to be launched soon in the Indian market. Post GLA crossover launch in the country, Mercedes Benz may also also launch its another popular variant, the CLA in the country soon after.
Speaking more about the new upcoming GLA crossover, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “In line with the Year of Excellence' strategy, Mercedes-Benz India will launch some of the most fascinating cars for the Indian customers in 2014; some of them will be from the AMG brand as well. We began the year by launching the new S-Class, the C- Class GRAND EDITION and followed it with the M Guard special protection vehicle.” Kern further added, “Today we launched India's most powerful luxury SUV, the GL 63 AMG. We will continue to bring relevant products for India and set new standards in modern luxury.”
The upcoming Mercedes Benz GLA will be available in petrol as well as diesel variants. 1.6 litre engine shall generate power of about 156 Bhp along with a peak torque output of about 250 Nm. Whereas the diesel version shall be powered by 2.2 Liter engine that generates about 135 Bhp of power with about 300 Nm of torque. Pricing for the upcoming Mercedes Benz GLA is unknown for now but it is believed that the vehicle may carry a price tag of about Rs. 28 - Rs. 30 lakhs. Added to list of interesting technological and luxury features, the upcoming GLA crossover from Mercedes Benz may also get seven-speed dual clutch mechanism.
