Mercedes-Benz Japan has asked its dealers to commence bookings for the GLE coupe. Prices for this SUV will range from Japanese Yen8,900,000 to 17,800,000 (Rs 53.11 lakh to 1.06 crore).
Mercedes’ GLE coupe merges the style of a coupe with the convenience of an SUV. The GLE coupe will be available in three versions, namely the350d 4Matic, the AMG 43 4Matic and the AMG 63 S 4Matic. While power for the 350d comes from a 3.0-litre V6 that produces 258bhp and 619Nm of torque, the AMG 43 4Matic is equipped with a 367bhp motor that delivers 519Nm of torque. 0-100kmph on the AMG 43 is accomplished in 5.7sec. The most powerful AMG 63 S 4Matic is equipped with a 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbo motor that produces 585bhp and a maximum torque of 760Nm.
Externally, the GLE coupe gets muscular fenders, pronounced wheel arches, a high belt line and a ground clearance that matches the butch appearance. Mercedes-Benz Japan revealed that the GLE coupe will hit dealerships in
August 2016.On the other hand, Mercedes-Benz in India sells the 367bhp AMG 450 AMG and has not revealed any plans to introduce the other two variants as of now.
