Mercedes-Benz has introduced the petrol variant in the GLE SUV at a price of Rs 74.90 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The newly launched Mercedes-Benz GLE 4MATIC fills in the gap for customers who have been looking for a petrol option. Except for a petrol engine under the hood, the GLE 400 4MATIC comes with all the features as offered in the diesel variant.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC is powered by a 2996cc V6 petrol engine which generates 328bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. Mated to 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission, the vehicle is capable of attaining a top speed of about 247kmph. The SUV gets five different driving modes- comfort, sport, slippery, individual and off-road.

The GLE has been the highest selling SUV ever and with a growing penchant for SUVs among customers, we believe the introduction of the petrol version will further bolster our presence in the luxury SUV segment. For the first time, we are introducing the GLE with a petrol mill and this underscores our strategy of offering the right product for our growing customer base. This is the fourth SUV we have introduced this year and with this variant, we now offer our bestselling SUV in four different options, GLE 250 d, GLE 350 d, GLE 400 and the dynamic GLE 450 AMG Coupe.”
Inside, the Mercedes-Benz GLE petrol variant is offered with Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system which has been matched to Logic 7 multi-channel surround sound technology for an enthralling 360-degree sound experience of stereo and discrete 5.1 recordings in every seat. The SUV will also get an 8-inch infotainment system. Along with intelligent drive system and six airbags for safety, the SUV also comes loaded with assistance systems such as crosswind assist, attention assist, active parking assist and brake assist.
