German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz, a division of AG Daimler, announced that it will be launching the performance luxury sedan, E63 AMG, on the 25th of July in the Indian auto market. According to reports, the E63 AMG will be launched at the Buddh International Circuit, the Formula One race track located in Greater Noida. Previously, this vehicle was spotted during the Mercedes India Corporate Star Experience event, which was also held at the Buddh International Circuit.
The company is looking to gain momentum in an otherwise slow market by launching more and more vehicles. This is a part of the aggressive strategy adopted by the firm with respect to the Indian market. The introduction of the E63 AMG will follow the launch of other vehicles like the new E-Class, GL Class Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), A-Class and B-Class Diesel, which hit the Indian car market in the recent past. The brand with three pointed star is looking to trump its fierce rivals Audi and BMW by the introduction new models. The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, for instance, will be competing with the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8L.
The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG will be coming to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which will certainly have a role to play in its pricing. Termed as a highly performance packed car, the E63 AMG has been a success in the global market, in which it comes in two variants, namely the base and S models. The base and S variants of the Mercedes-Benz are capable of producing outputs of 557 bhp and 585 bhp, respectively.
Fitted with a twin turbo V8 petrol engine that has a capacity of 5.5 litre, the 2014 E63 AMG will produce 557 bhp and a torque of up to 720 Nm. The twin turbo engine of the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is mated to the 7-speed automatic gear box, which transmit the power to all four wheels. Industry experts believe that the performance of this vehicle will lure car buyers, who will be impressed by its solidarity and grip. The performance of this luxury sedan will be enhanced by features like four-valve technology with camshaft adjustment, generator management, biturbocharging, direct petrol injection and air-water charge air cooling. It is capable of reaching 100 kmph from inital in about 4.2 seconds.
