Mercedes-Benz India will launch the E-Class LWB tomorrow in its long wheelbase version. It is the first time the automaker is introducing a stretched version of the sedan for the Indian market.

Mercedes-Benz India to launch the E-Class LWB tomorrow

The new luxury saloon measures 5,063mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,079mm. So it’s the longest sedan in its segment after the Jaguar XF and also one of the most spacious for rear passengers. This second row is anyway the place where most of the target buyers are usually seated. The new E-class borrows design traits from the current S-Class and the C-Class sedans and equipment-wise too its similarly packed.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be offered in two variants – E200 and E350d. The former will get the 2.0-litre turbo petrol rated at 181bhp and 300Nm, while the latter comes powered by the 3.0-litre diesel producing 254bhp and 620Nm. Both powerplants come paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Mercedes-Benz has always set the bar higher with each product they launch. The new E-Class is no different. In fact, this time, the stretched version of the E-Class will come as a delight for prospective buyers as most of them prefer the rear seat comfort, while their driver takes the steering wheel. Prices will be announced tomorrow. Stay tuned.
