      Mercedes Benz India has launched CLA45 AMG in India at an event organized at Buddh International Circuit. The vehicle has been brought to India through CBU and is priced at Rs 68.5 lakh (ex-showroom price). Deliveries of the saloon are likely to begin from August. Conceived on the A-Class platform, CLA45 AMG shares a majority of its styling components with A45 AMG.
       
      The new CLA45 AMG has been designed in tandem with the sporty and emotive design elements seen on other AMG models. In the front is a twin-blade radiator grille with Mercedes’ emblem fitted in-between.  Bi-xenon head lamps are being offered as standard equipment on the saloon. Five spoke, 18 inch light alloy wheels have been affixed in the saloon. Inside the cabin, a number of class leading goodies have been incorporated such as AMG start-up screen on the TFT colour display placed in the centre. Instrument cluster dons round black dials, carbon-fibre design, silver/red needles and a chic speedometer. Other significant features include an AMG performance seats, AMG performance steering wheel and Panaromic sliding sunroof.

      Powering CLA45 AMG is a 2.0 litre, direct injection turbo-petrol engine that is capable of developing a towering power of 355 Bhp and a pinnacle torque of 450 Nm. The 2.0 litre gasoline engine yields impressive performance and manages to propel the vehicle from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds. A top speed of 250 Kmph is achieved by the vehicle. Mercedes Benz has paired a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission with the engine that channelizes power to all four wheels via a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The vehicle can be driven in three modes-“C-Controlled Efficiency”, “S-Sport” and “M-Manual”. An ECO start/stop function is also available in the controlled driving mode which is claimed to be the most fuel-efficient mode.
       
      Mercedes has incorporated a string of safety features in CLA45 AMG saloon, among vital equipments seven airbags, PRE-SAFE system, tyre pressure loss monitoring system and Electronic Stability Program including ESP curve dynamic assist.
       
      The vehicle is targeted at the youth and to lure young professional in country, Mercedes Benz India will launch a special communications campaign ‘Ah My God’ for its prospective customers. The high point of the campaign will be the first ever India specific TVC. This new television commercial teaser can be pre-viewed on Mercedes-Benz India official YouTube channel.
