Mercedes-AMG has launched its sixth and seventh AMG product in India, the CLA 45 and the GLA 45 in India at Rs 75.20 lakhs and Rs 78.50 lakhs respectively (All India, ex-showroom). You also have both the AMGs offered in special Aero Editions at a price of Rs 77.69 lakhs and Rs 80.67 lakhs respectively.
The latest products from the performance division are also coincidentally the most affordable AMG models in the country. Mercedes-AMG has introduced fresh cosmetic upgrades with sportier detailing on the 2017 AMG CLA 45 and the GLA 45 models.
Mechanically, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 shares the 2.0-litre, in-line 4 turbocharged engine which is mated to an AMG Speedshift DCT 7-Speed sports transmission. The AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive system generates a powerful 375bhp and 475Nm of torque. The cars also get the AMG dynamic plus package with four modes.
Visually, the AMG CLA 45 and the GLA 45 gets a glossy black paint job with yellow highlights and a black racing strip that runs along the hood, roof and boot of the cars. The cars get signature AMG styling and a body kit with an aggressive front bumper which houses a wide central air-dam and large air intakes on either side and rear diffuser with a quad-exhaust setup. To round off its sporty appeal, the cars get black grille and AMG badging on the slat. The visual highlights just does not end here, though. The 2017 models feature AMG graphics on both sides above the side skirts along with a yellow highlight on the front bumper, ORVMs, tyre wall and the rear bumper as well.
Both the cars get 19-inch alloy wheels, however, the AMG CLA 45 gets twin 9-spoke design and the AMG GLA 45 gets single 9-spoke wheels. Along with the common updates, the AMG GLA 45 additionally features a rear spoiler with yellow highlights. As for the interior, both the cars get an all-black layout along with red contract lines and stitching along the dashboard, side panels and the leather seats. Black leather with red stitching can also be seen on the multi-function steering wheel. The cars also feature an eight-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink for smartphone connectivity on the dashboard.
