Though the four-door AMG GT test mule was last sighted two months ago, this time around the prototype has received some misleading camouflage (rear hump) to persuade viewers to believe they’re looking at a CLS-Class. What confirms this, is the headlamps on the test mule that are similar to the ones on the GT concept that was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show, and not the CLS’s head lights. Moreover, the rear portion of the test car with the sloping roof is more like a hatchback, and in-line with the GT concept from Geneva.

Reports suggest that the Mercedes-AMG four-door GT is likely to be powered by the same 577bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that makes 700Nm and muscles the GT series. All said, it is currently unknown if the hybrid power-plant that combines this engine with an electric motor and makes combined output of 805bhp, will make it to the range as of now. Sources claim that the Mercedes-AMG GT four-door is still some time away from being introduced. Stay tuned to CarTrade for more information in the time to come.
