Mazda Motor Corporation, one of the leading Japan based auto makers, is all set to roll out its first compact crossover SUV, Mazda CX-5, by the end of this month. The production version of the SUV made a debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the month of September, 2011 and is considered to be the cheapest in the segment of compact crossovers, priced in the range starting from $20695.
Mazda CX-5 is the first vehicle of the company to be featured with SkyActiv technology consisting of 2.2 Liter, diesel engine with six speed manual transmission resulting in improved fuel efficiency and emission levels. The company has specifically developed resin material for the vehicle’s components so that the rigidity of the parts can be maintained, at the same time achieving significant reduction in the weight of the vehicle.
The SUV sports power windows and locks, cruise control, air conditioning, cloth seating, push button start along with the 17 inch alloy wheels and tyres manufactured by Yokohama. The vehicle will be endowed with entertainment attributes such as integrated music system and HD radio technology.
The Grand Touring model of CX-5 will be available in front wheel drive and all wheel drive options. Additional features will be offered by the vehicle as the price inches towards $25145, such as power windows adjustment at the driver’s seat, Bluetooth, six speaker music system with 5.8 inch touch screen monitor, additional fog lamps and rear view camera.
Moreover, the company is anticipating that the CX-5 Touring will become the bestselling vehicle in the Mazda portfolio.
