Maruti Suzuki’s new-generation Vitara has been spotted in India. The new Vitara is powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. The Vitara could make its way into the Indian car market as the brand is looking at adding more SUVs to its portfolio. If the Vitara comes, it will be sold through the Nexa range of dealerships.
The Maruti Vitara will be priced at about the Duster range or about Rs 1.5 lakhs more than it. The Vitara will be Maruti’s larger SUV. The Grand Vitara was launched many years ago in India, however it didn’t perform that well. Maruti hasn’t been very successful with cars that are priced in excess of Rs 10 lakhs, however this is changing as the Baleno and even the Ciaz are doing well.
Maruti will be launching the YBA and the Ignis next year. These will be two of its new compact SUVs that will be making their way into the Indian car market. The Vitara could be another SUV that Maruti will want to add to its Nexa range of portfolio. The Vitara could even get the 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel engine that have been developed and Maruti has been testing this engine for a while for some of its new vehicles.
