Maruti Vitara Brezza shall not be offered in SHVS variant

The much awaited Vitara Brezza from Maruti Suzuki has finally been launched in India at a starting price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new model has been launched in six variants - LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+. The compact SUV comes forth as a strong competitor pitted against Mahindra’s TUV300 and Ford’s EcoSport.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that generates about 90bhp of power and 210Nm of maximum torque. Mated to five-speed manual transmission, the vehicle claims return a fuel efficiency figure of about 24.3 km/l. As per fresh updates from sources, owing to class leading fuel efficiency figures, the company has no plans on introducing an SHVS variant anytime soon for the Vitara Brezza. For now, the SHVS technology (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) is only offered in Maruti’s Ciaz sedan and the Ertiga MPV to help them achieve better fuel efficiency figures.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza comes loaded with interesting set of features like rain-sensing wipers, front arm rest, navigation and reverse parking camera display and cooled glove box, SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, dual-tone exterior paint, push-button start, automatic headlamps, power folding wing mirrors, cruise control on the top-of the line variant, while the lower end trim is offered with 60:40 split rear seat, unique speedometer lights, driver’s seat height adjust, automatic AC, steering-mounted audio control, rear wiper with washer and rear centre arm rest. Driver side airbag has been offered as a standard features, while customers can opt for passenger airbag and ABS with EBD right from the base variant itself.
