As all eyes are set on Maruti Suzuki’s first compact SUV Vitara Brezza in India, fresh reports have emerged hinting on a possibility that the vehicle may only be offered in a diesel variant in the country. As per sources the company plans on restricting petrol engine to exports for now, while it may later be introduced in the country. The company would be showcasing the vehicle at the 2016 Auto Expo for now while launch would happen by the end the first quarter this year.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza would be powered by 1.3-litre Fiat sourced diesel engine that currently serves the Ciaz and Ertiga in the country. Whereas, the 1.5-litre M-Series petrol engine would serve the international markets before being introduced in India. To begin with company expects to sell around 10,000 units a month. More details on the specs and features may be known during the upcoming Auto Expo event, while the pricing aspect may be known during its launch in March this year.
