Maruti will launch their newest SUV, the Vitara Brezza, on March 8. The Vitara Brezza was first showcased in India at the Auto Expo last month.
The Vitara Brezza is a sub-four metre SUV that seats five occupants. The look and styling is inspired from its bigger sibling, the Suzuki Vitara, making it look like a real SUV rather than a crossover. The top spec variant will have projector headlamps and fog-lamps mounted on the bumper. The twin box cabin is spacious and gets steering mounted audio controls, climate control and a touch-screen audio system in the top spec car.
The Vitara Brezza will be offered only with a diesel engine – the 1.3-litre turbocharged engine developing 90bhp of power and mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. With the reducing difference in the prices of petrol and diesel, the Vitara Brezza may soon get a petrol option – the 1.2-litre VVT-I engine.
The Vitara Brezza, being a sub-four metre car, will compete against the recently updated Ford EcoSport and Mahindra’s TUV300. We expect the Vitara Brezza to be priced a tad below 8 lakh to undercut the Ford Ecoport on the outset.
