Maruti Suzuki India is currently India’s second largest car exporter with Hyundai leading in the first position in the exports segment. MIL now plans to increase its exports from India. It intends to double its exports in the current fiscal as well as increase its market presence in the rural India.

"Our export target for the current year is 130,000 units that will include A-Star, Maruti 800, Estilo, and Swift models," marketing and sales executive officer Mayank Pareek told reporters at the launch of the company's hatchback model Ritz in Chennai.

Maruti has recently launched its latest model Ritz in India. This is another global model in MIL’s product portfolio. It will be sold as Suzuki Splash in European countries. It had earlier launched its hatchback model A Star that will be sold as Suzuki Alto in European countries including Germany, Italy, France and Holland. Nearly 70,000 units of A-star will be shipped to these countries. MIL will also sell 30,000 units to Nissan that will be sold as Nissan Pixo in Europe itself.
