      Maruti Swift and Alto K10 facelifts launching soon

      Maruti Suzuki India is readying for launch of facelift versions of Maruti Swift and Alto K10. According to latest report, both the launches are slated to happen soon, while Swift is expected to be launched in India by the end of this month, rumour has it that Alto K10 facelift could also be rolled out soon instead of early next year.

      More details have emerged on both the vehicles; MSI’s flagship hatchback Swift is likely to receive cosmetic upgrades only. Most of the additions will be made to the high end variants, Vxi and Zxi. Production of new Swift has also apparently commenced at the company’s manufacturing unit located in Manesar. Zxi is expected to come equipped with newly designed alloy wheels on the other hand Vxi could get redesigned wheel caps. Day time running lights and other options such as body-coloured or chrome door handles will also be offered on both the trims. High end variant Zxi could be bestowed with exquisite features such as power folding ORVMs, auto-up feature on the driver’s side power window and keyless entry. Engine options will be the same 1.4 litre, K-Series petrol engine and a 1.3 litre mulit-jet diesel powertrain.

      Alto K10 facelift on the other hand will receive cosmetic as well as mechanical upgrades. Based on the Alto 800 hatchback, new Alto K10 will also be powered with a tweaked engine. External changes like wraparound head lights, reworked grille with chrome garnish and restyled bumper featuring larger air vents could be seen. Rear is expected to get revivified tail lamp cluster with clear lenses. Cabin is likely to adorn modified dashboard with rectangular AC vents placed in the centre and circular in the corners. Silver treatment could be seen around the aircon vents and three spoke steering wheel, a newly designed instrument cluster is also likely to be incorporated inside the cabin. Features such as air-condition and heater and power windows will be proffered as standard fitments. High end trims could get body coloured mirrors, door handles, front power windows and central locking.

      Rumours suggest that new Alto K10 range will comprise of three variants. An automated manual transmission could also be out on offer apart from the conventional five-speed manual gearbox.
