India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki will launch an all-new premium hatchback in the country next year. Codenamed as Maruti YRA, the vehicle will be a global product and has been spotted several times during its test rounds in India and Europe. Ahead of its official launch next year, new details about the YRA premium hatchback has been revealed on the interweb.

The YRA Premium hatchback will share its design cues with other Maruti’s including Swift hatchback. The front fascia features a V-shaped honeycomb grille complemented by the sweptback headlamps. Its front bumper is equipped with a wider air dam and simple looking fog lamps. We expect that the YRA will get chrome inserts on the grille and around fog lamps.

The outside rear view mirrors are positioned on the car’s front door instead of the A-pillar, and features an integrated turn-indicators. Its flared wheel arches are likely to be fitted to with large alloy wheels. Chrome door handles and chrome linings around window sills are expected. At the back, the YRA is likely to get more modern design with styling resemble to Volkswagen Polo. Its rear bumper accommodates licensing plates and reflectors on sides. It is likely to offer an excellent luggage carrying capacity.

The Suzuki YRA premium hatchback is likely to share its cabin with Ciaz sedan. It is expected to get black dashboard with silver accents. However, we believe that the company would follow the black-beige interior scheme. Its large dashboard is likely to get an advanced infotainment system, newly styled air conditioner vents on the sides.

The exact engine specifications for the upcoming premium saloon are yet to be revealed. If media reports are to be believed, the hatchback could sport new 1.0L turbocharged petrol, 1.2L petrol and 1.3-litre oil burner. The performance variant could feature the 1.4L unit that also powers the Ciaz sedan.
