Unveiled as a concept at the 2013 Indonesia International Motor Show, the WagonR 7-seat MPV will be based on the same platform that underpins the WagonR hatchback. The production version is expected to get dual beige and purple shade inside the cabin, similar to its concept model. Maruti’s new compact MPV is likely to get the Swift’s 1.2-litre K-Series petrol unit or a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. While the former delivers a maximum power of 83.1bhp with a peak torque of 115Nm, the latter offers 67.1bhp and 90Nm.

As per a report, the Indo-Japanese automaker is aiming to achieve annual sales of 80, 000 units for the upcoming compact MPV. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR 7- seat MPV will positioned above the WagonR hatchback and below the Ertiga MPV. Set to rival against the Datsun Go+, the mini MPV will be priced in range of Rs. 4 lakh – Rs. 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
