      Maruti Suzuki to launch 8 new cars in India in 2015

      India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, seems aggressive with its product strategy for the highly competitive environment. The company is preparing at least eight new cars, including facelifts of some existing cars, to launch in the Indian market. A couple of months back, MSI launched the Swift facelift and the new Alto K10 with AMT variant in the country. And now the company is aiming to introduce the Swift Dzire facelift in the month of February. The updated Dzire have already been spotted several times, and has received cosmetic upgrades and additional features. Most of the new features and changes are inspired from its hatchback sibling - the 2015 Swift.

      The much-awaited Celerio diesel is likely to be launched by the March/April, and is expected to be the country's most fuel efficient car by returning around 30kmpl. The vehicle will get newly developed 800cc twin-pot turbo diesel engine that will also power the Y9T pick-up truck.

      It was speculated that the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross SX4 will be launched in January; however, the launch is shifted to second quarter of this year. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the crossover will be priced around Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh. It will be offered in two diesel engines and one petrol motor, and will rival against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and others in the league.

      The Ertiga facelift, which has recently been leaked on interweb, will also see its market launch in the second quarter of this year.Maruti Suzuki Eeco facelift and Swift Diesel AMT will kick-start the festive months. The Swift AMT will be the cheapest diesel powered AMT variant in the country. A five-speed AMT gearbox will be offered on the mid-level VDi trim.

      The next product will be Maruti YRA premium hatchback, which will sit above the Swift hatchback. It will rival against the likes of Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Elite i20 and soon-to-be launched Honda Jazz. The last product to be launched in our market will be the updated Ritz hatchback, which will be launched by the end of this year.
