Maruti Suzuki will start offering the ISOFIX mounts on the rear seat of the Ciaz very soon. The carmaker hasn’t made an official announcement yet, but these leaked brochure images confirm the addition of this new safety feature.
An ISOFIX mounts help in fitting child seats to the car’s rear seat. These mounts make sure that these child seats are in the dedicated position even in the event of a hard collision. They are designed to secure a combined weight of 33 kg. Generally child seats can be secured with seat belts too, but ISOFIX mounts are better for safety.
The introduction of such safety features shows that Maruti Suzuki wants to push the envelope of safety standards. The ISOFIX mounts are expected to be offered as standard across all variants of the Ciaz soon. Let’s hope some more models from the carmaker’s portfolio get this feature as well.
