Maruti has launched the facelifted version of the Alto 800 for starting price of Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The entry-level hatchback gets cosmetic upgrades, couple of additional features and optional airbag starting base trim.
The changes to the exterior of the Alto 800 include new bigger front grille and refreshed headlamps. Rest of the design is almost the same, but the car is now available new in Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue exterior colours. Inside the cabin is dark grey and the additional features include rear bottle holder, co-driver side map pocket, rear door child lock and co-driver side ORVM as standard fitment. For safety, Maruti Suzuki is offering driver side airbag as option from the base trim for Rs 6,000.
The Alto 800 uses the same 800cc petrol engine producing 47bhp and 69Nm of torque, but the ARAI fuel efficiency of the hatchback has improved to 24.7kmpl. Also the variants with CNG now claim 33.44km/kg. The Alto 800 competes with the Renault Kwid and Hyundai Eon in the entry-level hatchback segment.
