The Ertiga CNG is equipped with the same 1.4 litre petrol engine, which churns out a maximum power of 91 bhp, with a highest torque of 130 Nm. In order to channelise this power to the front wheels of the model, an efficient five-speed manual transmission system has been equipped within the Ertiga. The CNG variant of company's first Life Utility Vehicle has been assimilated with an i-GPI (intelligent-Gas Port Injection) system, which facilitates the driver to change the fuel supply through a switch.

Reportedly, the CNG variant of Ertiga has been offered with an increased price of Rs. 52, 000 and Rs. 60,000 over the standard petrol variants. Industry experts are of a view that the same model will be shipped to the Indonesian auto market, wherein it has been working wonders for the company. The introduction of dual fuel mode in Ertiga is sure to work in the favour of Maruti Suzuki, which will further help it in consolidating the position of model in the entry level mass utility vehicle segment.
