      Maruti Suzuki Ignis sells 4830 units in January

      The newcomer from Maruti Suzuki, the Ignis has generated a lot of interest in the hatchback segment. Launched on January 13 this year, the automaker has already sold around 4,830 units in just about 18 days of last month. The newbie is sold via Maruti’s premium Nexa dealership outlets and instantly gained popularity owing to its design and interesting set of features. Speaking of its popularity, the Ignis received over 10,000 bookings in just about a week’s time since launch.

      The Ignis from Maruti Suzuki distinguishes itself from the rest in terms of an AMT option being offered in petrol as well as diesel version. The petrol version is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series engine that generates 82bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. The diesel version on the other hand is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS engine which generates 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque.

      In efforts to stay ahead of the competition, Maruti Suzuki also offers latest customisation and exterior styling options. Moreover, the model also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Maruti Suzuki currently has 200 Nexa outlets located across 121 cities and by 2020, the company plans to double its numbers to 400 outlets.

      The automaker plans to introduce more new models and strengthen its Nexa outlet in the country, which will eventually help the Indian carmaker raise its market share by more than the current 50 per cent. Reports indicate that Nexa has already sold over 1,85,000 vehicles till date, with an indication of a positive growth ahead.
