Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be launched in India on January 13. Bookings for the car has already commenced on the Nexa website with a booking amount of Rs 11,000.
There is a lot of anticipation surrounding the Ignis which is going to be the third addition to the exclusive Nexa line-up. Maruti Suzuki has followed a global design language to make the Ignis look very modern. This is a funky looking car thanks to its tall-boy hatch styling, eccentric design, large wheel arches and a distinctive front and rear end. The car will come with projector headlamps with DRLs, fog lamps and a new design, as the Ignis is focused on the millennials.
The Ignis will be available in 14 variants across both petrol and diesel options with five body colours to choose from. The variants are – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha with a Delta and Zeta variants getting the automatic transmission in both petrol and diesel options. Engine options include the K-Series 1.2-litre petrol unit producing 89bhp and 115Nm while the diesel is a 1.3-litre DDis engine putting out 75bhp and 190Nm.
Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed any pricing details for the Ignis, but we expect the car to be priced between Rs 5-8 lakh. When launched in India, the Ignis will go up against some of the B-segment hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grandi10 and the Mahindra KUV100.
