Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift to launch on 15th October

Maruti Suzuki India will launch the updated version of its popular MPV - Ertiga - on October 15, 2015, claims a report. The new Ertiga will receive cosmetic updates and a few additional features. Though, the most significant change will come in the form of SHVS hybrid system that will be offered on the diesel variant of the MPV. Powering the 2015 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift will be the existing 1.4-litre K-series petrol and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engines – that produce a maximum power of 90.7bhp with 130Nm of torque, and 88.7bhp with 200Nm respectively.

The diesel mill with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) mild hybrid technology is claimed to be more fuel efficient than the regular diesel unit. While a five-speed manual transmission will come as standard, a four-speed gearbox will be offered only on the petrol variant. Maruti might also introduce a five-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) on the MPV.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift

Talking about design, the new Ertiga features a triple-slat chrome grille with revised air dam, chrome bezels fog lamps, lower bumper with chrome accents on the front end. On side profile, the car gets electrically adjustable ORVMs and new five-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels. Other exterior updates include extended taillight reflectors, rear parking sensors, modified rear bumper and license plate with a new chrome appliqué.

Feature-wise, the base variant of the MPV will come with power steering, tilt steering, manual AC unit, seat belt reminder buzzer and driver-side airbag. While features like SmartPlay touchscreen entertainment system, Smart key with engine starter button and reverse parking camera will be available only on the top-end model.
