      Maruti Suzuki Ciaz outwits Honda City sales in October

      The recently launched Ciaz sedan has been a much awaited car for this year. Backed by Maruti Suzuki badging, the sedan was indeed expected to perform well in the domestic market. In fact, the Ciaz sedan has exceeded expectations with the delivery of 6,345 units of Ciaz in October, which indeed was higher than Honda's hotseller City sedan sales numbers. The lucrative price tag in the range of Rs. 6.99 lakh - Rs. 9.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) along with benefits like low cost of ownership and higher fuel efficiency has also helped the brand gain a good amount of popularity in the domestic market.

      The new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been launched in 6 petrol variants namely- V, V+, Z, Z(O), V+(AT) and Z AT, whereas in diesel, it has been launched in four trims namely - V, V+, Z and Z(O). Interestingly the vehicle has already garnered about 17,000 bookings and the company expects the numbers to rise further in the coming days.

      Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is powered by 1.4-litre K Series engine that generates about 92 PS of power with 130 Nm of top torque. The 1.3-litre Fiat’s Multi-Jet engine generates about 90 PS with 200 Nm of torque. The top end is available in 4-speed automatic transmission. The sedan features dynamic of 4490mm length, 1730mm width and about 1485mm in height. For surprising Indian roads the sedan gets a large wheelbase of about 2,650mm.
