The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been spotted doing the rounds in public ahead of its expected launch later this year. This is a mid-life update for the Indo-Japanese automaker’s C-segment sedan since it was launched in 2014.
This update sees the car get a new face, tail lamps and a new design for the alloy wheels. Of these, it looks like the face has got the most major update thanks to the addition of chrome inserts, a new grille and fog lamps.
The other major update for the sedan is expected to be a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine has already debuted in the next-gen Indonesia spec Ertiga and is expected to be offered on the Ciaz as well as the S-Cross. This engine produces 104bhp/138Nm and replaces the current 1.4-litre unit.
When launched, this updated Ciaz will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Honda City and the Skoda Rapid in the C-segment sedan category.
