Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country's largest passenger car maker, has launched the much awaited facelifted Ritz hatchback in petrol run models in the local market. The company introduced its popular 'Tall Boy' Ritz in a refreshed diesel powered avatar in September 2012 and, since then domestic car enthusiasts were waiting for petrol variant of the car.

MSIL has incorporated the updated petrol and diesel Ritz hatchbacks with the same 1.2 litre and 1.3 litre engines, respectively, which were installed in the erstwhile model. The new Ritz flaunts its captivating single piece front grille and front fascia looks slightly different than the old model, because of the redesigned nose. The car has been given a more sporty outlook due to its sharp and futuristic looking front headlamps, besides the bumpers appear tall and highlight the car's 'about-to-race' stance.

Coming to the interior comfort attributes, the new petrol powered Ritz hatch comes trimmed with refined and attractive new seats in dual tone fabrics, on the mid and top end variants. Further, to ensure premium driving experience and comfort lumbar support is provided on the seats along with a superior interior cabin feel and composure. However, considering the interior refinements, one feels that Maruti Suzuki could have done more modifications as Ritz competes against Hyundai i10, whose new model has been a revelation in the small car segment.

The new Maruti Suzuki Ritz ZXi comes laced with several enticing interior add-ons, such as completely redesigned music system compatible with USB functionality, state-of-the-art multi-information display on the instrument panel along with new electrically adjustable wing mirrors. The Ritz ZXi being the top end model features thoughtful steering mounted audio and other controls, alloy wheels and dual front airbags.

Maruti Suzuki, the country's favourite car maker, offers the revamped Ritz in three variants namely LXi, VXi and ZXi , in the domestic market. The Ritz LXi carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 4.52 lacs (Mumbai), while the mid-level and top-level models - VXi and ZXi bear retail values of Rs. 4.83 lacs and Rs. 5.49 lacs, respectively.
