The premium hatchback Baleno from Maruti Suzuki has garnished a warm response in the Indian market. In just about two months the hatchback reportedly accumulated over 40,000 unit bookings. Currently, Maruti Suzuki has about 95 Nexa outlets in the country and going forward the company plans to increase the number to about 100 this year. With the recent price hike announced by Maruti Suzuki, the price list for the Baleno has also changed. The company now charges an additional Rs 5,000 on all Baleno variants except the base Sigma variant that costs an additional Rs 12,000 over the existing price. The new price list is as follows (Ex-showroom, Delhi):
Maruti Suzuki Baleno is offered in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol gets a 1.2-litre K-Series engine that generates about 83 bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. While the diesel trim gets a 1.3-litre engine that generates about 74 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. Apart from 5-speed manual gearbox in both, the petrol trim gets an optional CVT transmission.
New prices for Baleno Petrol variants are - Sigma: Rs 5.11 lakh, Delta: Rs 5.76 lakh, Zeta: Rs 6.63 lakh, Alpha: Rs 7.06 lakh and Delta CVT: Rs 6.81 lakh. Whereas prices for diesel variant have been revised as Sigma: Rs 6.21 lakh, Delta: Rs 6.86 lakh, Zeta: Rs 7.46 lakh and Alpha: Rs 8.16 lakh
