The much awaited feature and style loaded Baleno has finally been launched in Mumbai at an introductory starting price of Rs 5,22,394. The company has offered the new Baleno in four trims namely – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Apart from the Indian market, the company shall also export the premium hatchback in over 100 countries. The newly launched hatchback is being manufactured at the Manesar facility.

The new Maruti Bleno has been offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version gets a 1.2-litre VVT engine generates maximum power of about 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. Whereas, the diesel trim gets a 1.3-litre DDiS 190 engine that generates 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. The petrol trim reportedly returns about 21.4km/l, while the diesel version returns about 27.39km/l. Only the petrol variant gets an optional CVT transmission while the diesel trims are offered in five-speed manual transmission option.

In terms of dimensions it measures, 1,500mm in height, 3,995mm in length, 2,520mm wheelbase, and width of 1,745mm. As for safety, the company has offered front disc brakes with Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters, and dual airbags as standard features. Based on trims, it also gets additional features like anti-theft security system, driver seatbelt reminder buzzer with lamp and rear parking sensors with camera.

For entertainment and convenience, the newly launched Baleno becomes the first car in India to offer Apple CarPlay in the country. The feature allows driver to control all functions via voice commands. It helps find direction, send and receive messages, make calls, listen to music and do much more. Additionally, it also gets 4.2-inch multi information speedometer display, touchscreen audio, automatic climate control, steering mounted audio controls, tilt and telescopic steering, keyless start/stop and driver hight adjustable seat. On the exterior, the Baleno gets projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, aerodynamic rear view mirrors, 16-inch alloys, Chrome door handles, chrome accentuated front grill with signature S logo.
